Sara Herrada Romero wurde in Weimar geboren und begann schon im Alter von 4 Jahren mit dem Violinspiel. Geigenunterricht erhielt sie u.a. bei Prof. Jost Witter an der Musikhochschule Weimar. Nach dem Abitur am Musikgymnasium Schloss Belvedere studierte sie Geige bei Prof. Roman Nodel in Mannheim. Ihr Diplomstudium schloss sie mit der Bestnote 1,0 ab. Es folgte ein Masterstudium bei Prof. Erich Höbarth an der Hochschule für Musik und Theater Leipzig.
Sara ist Preisträgerin zahlreicher Wettbewerbe, sie gewann mehrfach Preise beim Bundeswettbewerb "Jugend musiziert" und einen Sonderpreis beim Internationalen Hindemith- Wettbewerb 2009, sowie den Publikumspreis der 10. Internationalen Meisterkurse Weinheim. Anlässlich des „Reger-Jahres“ 2016 war sie beteiligt an einer CD-Produktion des Musiklabels „querstand“ mit Solo- und Kammermusikwerken von Max Reger.
Neben solistischen Auftritten, u.a. im Kaisersaal Erfurt, im Königlichen Konservatorium Brüssel und im Gewandhaus Leipzig, gilt ihre große Leidenschaft dem Orchesterspiel und der Kammermusik.
Sara konzertierte mit Musikern wie Erich Höbarth, Wolfram Christ und Wolfgang Böttcher. Sie war Konzertmeisterin der San Diego Youth Symphony, der Hochschulorchester in Mannheim und Leipzig und des Orchesters der Mahlerakademie Bozen, sowie stv. Konzertmeisterin des weltberühmten Gustav Mahler Jugendorchesters. Sie spielte unter Dirigenten wie Herbert Blomstedt, Sir Colin Davis, Andris Nelsons, Paavo Järvi, Kent Nagano und Gustavo Dudamel. Konzertreisen führten sie nach Korea, in die USA, nach Venezuela und Dubai sowie in zahlreiche Länder Europas.
2018 war sie Stipendiatin der Solti Foundation und spielte mit dem „World Orchestra for Peace“ unter Sir Donald Runnicles beim UNESCO Friedenskonzert (BBC Proms) in der Royal Albert Hall.
Sara ist festes Mitglied der Würth Philharmoniker.
Sara Herrada Romero was born in Weimar and started to learn the violin at the age of 4. Her teachers included Professor Jost Witter at the Weimar Music Academy. After completing a baccalaureate at the Schloss Belvedere Music School she studied with Professor Roman Nodel in Mannheim. This was followed by a Master’s degree at the Leipzig University of Music and Theatre where she studied with Professor Erich Höbarth.
Sara has won many competitions, including a special prize at the International Hindemith Competition in 2009. She was involved in a CD production of Max Reger’s chamber music. In addition to solo performances, including in the Erfurt Kaisersaal, the Royal Conservatory of Brussels, and the Gewandhaus Leipzig, she has a passion for chamber music and orchestral playing.
Sara has played with musicians such as Erich Höbarth, Wolfram Christ and Wolfgang Böttcher. She was a Concert Master of the San Diego Youth Symphony and the Orchestra of the Bolzano Mahlerakademie, and deputy Concert Master of the world-famous Gustav Mahler Youth Orchestra.
She has played under such luminaries as Herbert Blomstedt, Sir Colin Davis, Andris Nelsons and performed in South Korea, the US, Venezuela and Dubai, as well as many countries in Europe.
In 2018, she was a fellow of the Solti Foundation and played with the World Orchestra for Peace under Sir Donald Runnicles at the UNESCO Peace Concert (BBC PROMS) in the Royal Albert Hall. Sara is a permanent member of the Würth Philharmoniker.
